Looking for the origins of Joane Webb widow of Burwash d1655
« on: Friday 05 June 20 14:16 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I am still trying to track down the origins of the Webb families in Burwash. There is a will of a Joane Webb widow of Burwash 1655 which I am hoping should shed some light on them but I cannot fathom out any connections! I get the feeling that although she is in Burwash, originally she is from somewhere out of Sussex.
There is no burial that I can find for her in Sussex.

Anyway here is the information gleaned from the will:

Her husband must obviously have died before she wrote the will in 1652. I cannot find any marriages on the SMI or elsewhere.

She mentions the following people:
Brother: George Stanford
Dorothy Gower her sister and her sons Thomas, Richard and Elizabeth her daughter

Kinsmen/woman:
William Gower
Thomas Hayward and brother Richard
William Gaines and his wife Martha
Richard Shoebridge and his children Suzanne and Thomas
Joanne Willet
Katherine Wallis
John Allingham
Elizabeth Colbrand wife of John Colbrand
Thomas Standford and his daughter Joane

Others:
Edward, Robert and Nicholas Midhurst from Wittersham Kent.

~~~~~~~~-------------------------------
If anyone is able to shed any light on this I would be grateful.
