OK so that looks like their marriage ref posted above.  If you have the certificate it will give fathers' names and enable you to find them on census returns more easily.

having said that, I couldn't find them in 1901.  I found a few Gladys BROWNs but they were with the wrong parents ???

Hi, Yes that is the marraige cert , the father is Joseph. Did find them
in the 1901 england cencus in london living at earl st with wife and
daugter, place of birth Yorkshire , found him in directories there but
no more info other than address. He appears on the london directories
until about 1911 then in 1914 in clifton str cardiff as greengrocer. tgw
brown, palmer, garrett, hale, stidwell, stedwell,jewell<br />Macridis. Yorkshire, Guernsey, cardiff , devon, greece.
