Be aware!

When using Ancestry's Essex Parish Register (EPRI) any surnames etc where they have a ss in the name and the PRs show them as ff, that is how they will be transcribed.

I was recently researching the name Classon and Classun on the EPRI, I had already found some children on Family Search, and wanted to see if there were anymore to be found.

I just could not locate them, then remembering that in the PR images on Family Search the name was spelled Claffon and Claffun, tried using that spelling and up they came.

Made a mental note to use the asterisk wild card when looking for people with a ss in their name or starting with a capital S, in the 1600s etc.
Concentrating currently on:
Essex: Card, Harris, Stowell, Theobald/Tibbles & Turner.
Norfolk: Beale, Cork & Dalton.
Yorkshire: Oswald Sturdy birth/baptism c1708, Oswald where the devil are you?
