Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees!  A fresh pair of eyes makes a difference.
This clarifies what Pvte A Anderson received the award of the MM for.

PS The book Honours and Awards to the NZEF during the Great War 1914-1918 by Wayne McDonald, published by Richard Stowers is an excellent book and contains citations.
