McNaboe Family
« on: Sunday 07 June 20 20:27 BST (UK) »
Hi, Im struggling to find the parents of Bernard Mcnaboe born in Cavan around 1877 I know he married Lizzie Reilly on 1st May 1905 and the marriage cert. states his fathers name as James.

Ive done a search of all McNaboe's born in Arvagh and I assume they are all related somehow but haven't figured out how yet.

On a side note I found 4 children born to Bernard and Lizzie Reilly but I also found another child of Lizzie's stating James Mcnaboe as the father which stumped me.

Starting with this one-
On a side note I found 4 children born to Bernard and Lizzie Reilly but I also found another child of Lizzie's stating James Mcnaboe as the father which stumped me.
Birth of Bernard McNaboe, son of James McNaboe & Lizzie Reilly gives father's occupation as tinsmith.

This is the family in 1911 census- not your Bernard & Elizabeth-

Now this bit-

Bernard's age varies in census records & marriage so he could have been born before registration of births. His mother's name was Mary-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I did consider Mary as his mother from that census, but as you said the ages vary so much was also thrown by the grandson John Reilly but I guess one of Bernard's siblings could have married a Reilly as well.

Ive actually found 5 children born to James McNaboe a tinsmith from Cavan from 3 different women 3 of them died very young.

Possible birth for Mary McNaboe's grandson John Reilly- parents Charles Reilly and Kate McNaboe-

1911 John Reilly listed with parents & siblings-

Interesting thanks for that, couldn't find a marriage certificate for them though, I wonder if Charles and Lizzie were related.

They married 1886

Thank you for that I see why I couldn't find it now the surname was misspelled on both the marriage cert, and the sons birth cert.

Not mis-spelt, spelt differently.
Easier to search using just Charles' name.

This is most likely Bernard's birth registration in 1868 here:
