Medals:

On the National Archives site, the relevant rolls can be downloaded but only in their entirety so in the case of the first one, you get 124 pages of which he is on one.  Alternatively you can zoom in on the preview images (look down to the left where it says Preview an image of this record) and take a screen shot.

First is the QSA Medal roll of 46 Fd Company RE which was his parent unit:
http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C3763922  his is at image 82 saying his medal and clasps were issued by 17 Fd Coy. This is at:

His KSA Medal roll is at: http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C3764078   image 124

Pension card

The pesnion records do have a place for the disability to be entered although it is a simple short entry and may simply be "not physically fit" in his case.  This article shows what is on these records, I don't have Fold 3 access. so I can't see his.

I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe
