We are all very jealous  :(

Eating out seems a long way off, an impossible dream, the things we took for granted !

If Nicola let’s us out today I’m off to see my Mum at the weekend, haven’t seen her since mid February.

Not sure if I can remember how to drive the car  ;D

Suppose I’d better check it still works.

The last time we had a meal in a pub was last October.

As for simply going into a Pub for a drink that would be way back in 2006.

I just do not like Pubs, I would much prefer more of a Cafe culture.

I totally fail to see any enjoyment in throwing glass after glass of alcohol down ones throat.

God do I sound boring?

Is the Manx museum opening KG.

Not heard of an opening date - I'll have to check.

UPDATE! Still closed "Until further notice" (as per website).

More free time for you then  ;D

On the subject of pouring alcohol down your throat -- there is a circulating joke - with phrases coined by famous people (all men!) -- some of which I have copied below;

"Sometimes, when I reflect on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed.  Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I did not drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. I think, it is better to drink this beer & let dreams come true, than be selfish & worry about my liver.”

Babe Ruth

"When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.”

Paul Horning

"When we drink, we get drunk When we get drunk, we fall asleep.       When we fall asleep, we commit no sin. When we commit no sin, we go to heaven.  So, let's all get drunk and go to heaven.”

George Bernard Shaw

"Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer.  Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention,  But the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.”

Dave Barry

Dinner for 2 tonight at a local pub & steakhouse!  ;D ;D ;D
Maybe a bottle of wine (or two?).

And then we'll try a few pubs ;)

Have you got a date KGarrad?  ;)

Sounds good but Isould go to the pubs first then eat later. (Preferably a curry - yum!)   ;D

Added: or should that be “did you have a date?” ... sounds like you had a good time.

Does 9 pubs = 9 pints?

I think you’re rubbing it in now Mr. Garrad  ;D

Scotland is in shock today since Nicola didn’t allow the much anticipated beer gardens to open in her phase 2 bulletin yesterday  :'(

Slainte  :-\

Not a date as such - just dinner with a very good lady friend.
Visited 2 pubs first.
Then dinner - rib-eye steak, au poivre sauce, sweet potato fries; Bottle of red!
Followed by another 6 pubs after, finishing after 1 AM ;D

We skipped 1 pub, as it was very crowded.
Another 6 pubs were not yet open.

All in central Douglas and all in walking distance.
