You've obviously not heard this description of the island:
80,000 drunkards clinging to a rock in the middle of the Irish Sea!
Often quoted around here!

80,000, surely there's not enough room on the island for that many people

IOM is 33 miles X 13 miles - covering 225 square miles
Current population is 85,000.
