Has anyone out there got any of the above families in their trees?
The people I’m interested in are:
John Coulter of Howgate,Roucan d.1738
Mary Carlyle b.1688 d.1780(probably this John’s wife)
Mary Coulter who married Robert Glessel in the mid 1700s
Mary Coulter and Robert Glessel are mentioned in the book Roucan to Riches but it doesn’t mention her parentage and only makes guesses of potential brothers.
The Glessells orGlassells lived at Howgate farm, Roucan as did the above John Coulter, And at least two children named John and Janet.It would seem quite probable that John is also the father of Mary.Although it is not conclusive.
Anything on Mary Carlyle’s family would also be much appreciated!
