Thanks Carole....the only thing I know for sure about him, is his marriage to Vera, in 1946 at Taunton, and that he had the nick-name Jack.....for some reason their daughter was born at Boston, Lincs, /quote]

Vera was born and lived in Lincolnshire - she did her nurse training at Gainsborough Lincs -so she probably had her first child - I wonder if she met John through her nursing work- wonder if John was maybe in the armed forces?? and they married where he was stationed??

Strangely about the time of Vera's birth in Lincolnshire there was a methodist preacher named John Jay with his wife and son b 1910 the son was also John who also had 2 middle names will contact you later as I am out at the moment

suzard, I too looked into John Bernard Samuel. Married in Scotland 1938 to Margaret Greig Millar. John died aged 84 Scotland in 1994 not sure about Margaret. Quiet a few newspaper articles about him.

I have looked into several of the John Jay's, to no avail.....the one I'm looking for just don't want to be found.....maybe one day.....

Just for the record the John William Jay who married Vera Mustoe in 1942 either divorced or died pre 1976 as Vera Jay re-married Cyril Banks in 1976.
