I wonder if anyone has bright ideas of what this occupation might be. Comes from 1841 Census in Llanishen, Mon.

Ind. = Independant
i.e. of independant means

Thanks, JenB. I am sure you have it. Makes sense too for a wife would probably have been recorded
above a 15 year old. Perhaps she was a sister of the head. Pity that census didn't give more info. T
