So, they probaly weren't the Lord and Lady of the house (wishful thinking!)

I will have a look at the links, as of yet I haven't found where the Stewerts were from, will keep digging.

OPR births for Stewarts at Glassnick/Glasnick (late 1700s).
Map has Glasnock south west of Newton Stewart. There is also Glassock north west Newton Stewart as is Glenrernoch further to the north.
Castle Stewart is north of Newton Stewart too (Lord William Stewart).

OPR births for Stewarts at Glassnick/Glasnick (late 1700s).
Map has Glasnock south west of Newton Stewart. There is also Glassock north west Newton Stewart as is Glenrernoch further to the north.

Note that Robert Stewart was given as Marjorie's father:

Found the indexes on Wigtownshire Pages, (people, places, bmd etc.)
