Thanks all. Yes she should be a Prescot reg, I'm trying to get final proof that that is her mother who is connected to me.
It's the mother I'm interested in really, It's complicated. She was Mary Arnold nee Cain nee Meaney all RC records and I can't find Marys birth except for an index entry in our RC church for an Ann Connors to Mary no surname....and that same birth date that Mary gives on the 1939 census, you may think it's a transcription error but it is registered at the GRO and local office as the same thing.
So, Ann Connors married John Meaney dec 1865
Mary Meaney born Sept 1865 (before the marriage so maybe reg as Connors because there is no reg for Meaney hence me thinking the above parish record could be her) Trying to avoid paying the GRO just yet. So was looking for the marriage above to get fathers name as a clue. The fly in the oinment you see is my Mary Arnold(nee Meaney nee Cain) with the exact same birth date is also in her hometown with another daughter in the 1939 census.
Hope that makes sense because its boggling my mind.
