Sharp - Northumberland
« on: Sunday 05 July 20 13:54 BST (UK) »
Hi I'm after some help on the parents of 3rd Great grandmother..

Mary Ann Sharp born approx 1841 in Belford Northumberland
Died 1925 Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Husband John Cain born approx 1841 Galway Ireland.
Died 1887 Newcastle Upon Tyne.

A possible marriage in 1862 in Gateshead

I'm not 100% on this info just going off 1881 census records.

Thanks

Do you have their marriage cert/parish register entry? That would hopefully give you a father's name as a checking point.
This looks like a possible marriage

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NLZQ-MZY
Document info says its from film 252798 and the catalogue entry for that says Parish Church of Gateshead which was St Mary.

No images available and archives/FHCs still closed at the mo.

Where did you get the info about her being born in Belford?
If it was from a census could you tell us which ones and where please to save duplicating research you've already done?

Found them easily in 1881 but cant in 1871 so far.

John is easy to find in Northumberland 1851/1861 with Parents William/Abigail Cain
(I presume its him as he is a Stone Mason)

Here is a death notice website foe the Evening Chronicle.  It might be worth looking at this to see if any of your Cain ancestors might have had death notices in that time frame covered.

Lots of 'Sharps' too.  See above link.
