Patience Benton & William Smith

Hi everyone, I'm looking for more information for these family members
Patience Benton born 1880 living in Ripley Derbyshire Who Married a William Smith born 1873 also living in Ripley Derbyshire.
they had a child together named Edgar Smith born 1910.
I believe Patience re married to a Mr George D Hood.

Any further information would be appreciated.

Have you identified her birth via freebmd or GRO.

The only one I can see is a Patience Banton in 1882 in Mansfield.

Patience is 9 and a stepdaughter to George Matthews in 1891, with mother Elizabeth and 2 siblings?

Do you mean 1925 for the marriage NOT 1952?

The marriage in 1925 is of a Patience Smith to George D Hood.

If you look for them on 1939 register you will see that Patience is a lot younger than 'your' Patience.

The only George D Hood born in the Midlands is George Davis Hood born in Burton in 1901, unlikely that he would marry someone 20 years older, though not impossible.

I think you need to find her exact date of birth to see if she can be found on 1939.
She appears to put herself as older on her marriage information and 1901 census, so could be of variable age thereafter.  Just hope she keeps day and month the same.

Looking for another marriage or death of a Smith is always problematic.

Patience Smith in 1911 claims age 27, married 11 years, widowed, 3 children born, 2 died, working as servant in Nottingham.

Her son Edgar is living with aunt Mary Ellen and her husband Frederick Adams in 1911.
