I managed to get it from eBay of all, places for £1.99... don't know if it's still available from there.. it was a download onto my kindle app on my iPad... it did say I would get a copy in the post too but that didn't come and I got a message from eBay to say it wasn't available but I'd least downloaded it so don't know what happened there.... maybe worth a look!
Yes, I enjoyed The American Fround too... in fact I've enjoyed all his books... I met him when I went to one of the Family history shown at the NEC in Birmingham, he's a lovely chap.

I would never have thought of looking on eBay for books! Just had a look to see how much the paperbacks are - how about this, a 'pre owned' copy for £101.99!!  :o  Free postage though  ;D
Ill have a look tomorrow and see if there are any sales from people who live in the real world.....

😳😳😳😱😱😱 that is go smackingky expensive.... do you think they've made a mistake!
When I put the title into Google it came up with a whole load of different places to get it from and eBay were the cheapest... as you say would never have thought they sold books!

If you put it i tom Google then look on the top row where it says shopping click on that and scroll down and you'll see it there for $0.99 roughly .78p!
Then you can download it.... have a look and tell me if you see what I see...

I don't think it's a mistake Caroline, there was another at £67.99 (or something like that) and others at equally ridiculous prices. When I was browsing on Amazon for paperbacks I came across some where the price for a used copy was higher than a new one. Why on earth would anyone buy them? The world has gone mad!
I'll have a go with the Google search tomorrow, thanks for the tips.  :)

The advert for one priced  £101.99 says last one available.  ??? It's from a book seller I've used several times, they're very good to deal with. Needless to say I haven't paid anywhere near that price!

It's quite ridiculous.... do they think people are daft enough to pay those sort of prices.... well probably yes!

Good luck with the google search tomorrow..

I’ve seen those ridiculous prices for many items on eBay and wondered how anyone would be stupid enough to buy them. The answer is, they don’t:

The reason for listing with ridiculous prices: Large sellers do that if their item is out of stock. In order to prevent/discourage people from buying the item, they hike the price to a ridiculous level and leave the listing where it is. This is called a placeholder listing

It still seems odd, but plenty do it.  :-\

Ruskie, thank you for the explanation, that's mad! Really interesting though, what they get up to in the world of commerce beggars belief.
