So 1881 - Alfred is living with his parents as a widower - RG11/2804 folio 23 page 39 plus Sarah aged 12 months.

And Sarah Jane Davies, mmn = Billings - registered 1880 in Wolverhampton.

Plus:  I'm now totally cunfused, if we are trying to find Anne/Annie Davies

As I said in #8 - there is no birth registration for "female" Davies in 1889 +/- 2 years with mmn = Willetts.  Therefore could she be an adopted "daughter" - not even blood-related?

My understanding is that the 1911 number of children refers to the wife so could
Ann be a daughter of a first wife or girlfriend who died in childbirth .
That would make her the Willets step grandchild
She could still be Alfred's daughter in 1901
Harriet and he had had no children together

She was born Jun 1860 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England and died Jun 1880 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, daughter of Joseph Billings and Sarah B.
He married Harriet Willetts 25 Jun 1882. She was born Jan 1860 in Willenhall, Staffordshire, England, daughter of Joseph Willets and Phoebe France.
Children of Alfred Davies and Harriet Willetts:
Census shows Annie vies was born 1889???
