Was the house in a town or in a country area? It could make a difference.

Hi Stan
Good thinking, I never thought of that, I haven't used maps much in the past but it will give me something to do when it's raining over the week end, I believe there are good  maps on a Scottish website isn't there, I will have to investigate.
Thanks

The National Library of Scotland Map Images at http://www.rootschat.com/links/01pqz/ and https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/ are the two sites to use. You do not have to subscribe to view the maps on the old-maps site, just change the zoom level.

Stan
