There are DNA links which indicate that Harriet Dobsons birth father could be anothe Dobson ..Frederick 1857 -1917 ..a painter. hopefully not related to her mother Sarah .

He fathered Harriet age 21
Before marriage to Elizabeth Thirkeld in 1883
my cousin  s DNA matches to descendants of  2 of his children half 3rd cousins
 but has no THIRKELD matches

Update there are 10 matches to descendants of the painter Frederick Dobson now
At correct level to be half or full 3rd cousins or 1st cousins twice removed

 so obviously on the right tracks

But finding the actual link is hard
