Cannot find a baptism specific to Llanddaniel. The closest is (FindMyPast - image and transcript) -

William Prichard Evans, 10 Jan 1802, place - Llanidan, son of William and Catharine Evans, Yscuborwen.
I can see an Ysgubor-wen north of Brynsiencyn on an 1888 map.

North of Llanddaniel is a Llansadwrn baptism of William , bap 11 April 1802, son of William Evans, lab'r, Cae Issa and Elizabeth his wife was baptised 11 April.

thanks so much for looking, I really appreciate it. I've just found his marriage record to Ellin Owens, 1822, Newborough, it provides another option, 'Llangainwein', Cheers Donna

I only checked 1802 baptisms. What is the "1802" birth year based on? Broadening years of search - -

Bap 25th Oct 1804, William, son of Evan Evans of Maes y porth by Ann Parry his wife, place Llangeinwen
Bap 19th Sep 1797, Will'm son of William & Mary Evans of Tyddyn Issa, place Llanddanielfab

Thank you both so much. I have death cert for William Evans, collier, died Dec 1868, Morfa mawr, Llanfihangel Esceifiog, aged 66yrs, therefore born abt 1802. He is in census' from 1841 in Gaerwen, Anglesey, his age varies, I understand it is an estimate. The census note his birthplace as Llandaniel, I've noticed his marriage cert in 1822 has Llangainwein. He married again in 1858 to Susan Williams, may be that marriage certificate will offer a clue. Is it possible to order marriage cert's via GRO? (The online index just refers to births and deaths). Thanks, Donna

You can still order (paper) copies of marriage certificates from GRO using the GRO index reference, but there is a note on the site to say that "orders will not be completed within the published timescales".
The marriage certificate should give you his father's name.

Do you have a Census reference for William in 1861? I have him in '41 and '51 but '61 is eluding me.

I have found a William Evans, born 1802, place of birth Llanddanielfab in '61 but does not fit your William ie. occupation is Cowman, your William was a Collier. But a second William Evans, born 1802 Llanddanielfab or thereabouts, does muddy the waters.

I have found him in '61, his first wife died 1854, he remarried '58, and is listed with new wife Susan and daughter Ellen (1.5 yrs) in Morfamawr, he is still listed as collier, birth is Llanddaniel. Could I please have a hint where to find the marriage option on GRO? I log in and I am able to select births or deaths only, there isn't an option that I can find to search or order a marriage cert. Thank you both very much, Donna
