Hello, my uncle, Lance Corporal John Turner Thompson, of the Royal Tank Corps based at Tidworth, died in a motorcycle accident in November 1928, on his return from Whitchurch along Andover Road. A memorial cross was laid flat on the ground at the side of the road to commemorate the incident. Does anyone know of such a memorial? I realise the area may have been developed by now, but I would very much like to know its exact location so I can visit the area at some point. I did try the local library but they could not help. Thank you.
