Thanks for all your replies.
I have now found the information that my great-grandfather did not die in the war but at home in Haverfordwest. The information I was sent was a different Thomas Williams. What you found is accurate, that is him.

I did once vow never to try to assist with Welsh records, dealing with the plethora of Williams and Jones etc makes the head hurt :(  I think I shall renew that vow!  Glad you tied that one down though.
