Nor do I Roobarb ,but I was online shopping and looking at the frozen fish,
it gave all the details —- Oh—- but it is a responsible———- etc.
I will not buy any more !
Used to have M&S but don’t get there nowadays and as far as I can ascertain
they only deliver party “food to order.“
Oh and I love fish ,prefer it to meat.
Up late today ,sunny, windy, threatened rain ,so indoor jobs again .
Might tackle those blinds.
That means everything out and back in again, so do other jobs first and as my mother would say “ leave the way clear for the big jobs “.
Then if I want to eat the kitchen is clean and clear and ready to go etc.
In better days, if visitors should come well the lounge is tidy and welcoming
and when I have finished I can sink  down comfortably and feel smug!
Problem is the biggest window is set far back, I have no idea how strong the work surface is ,how well supported etc ,dare I stand on it?
Difficult to reach the top corners of the frame from the ladders .
I can however do the other three blinds and hope my son can do the big one
in the not too distant future ,that faces due South so the one most needing a blind.
Patience patience, you do have to learn to be really patient as the years advance- posh for knocking on a bit.
Cheerio, a good day to everyone .
Viktoria.

I'm the same Viktoria, I love fish too. I like to try different varieties when I'm abroad, have had some really strange ones! The only fish I didn't like, which I had at a restaurant near home was Pike, it had a really strange taste. I miss the M&S food too.

Please please Viktoria, don't stand on the worktop!  :o  Leave it to your son to do, maybe when you ask him to move the sewing machine.

From the start of next month you'll be able to order M&S food through Ocado (and Ocado's partnership with Waitrose will be ending), but I don't know if it will be the full range.

You can check to see if they deliver to your postcode at

https://www.ocado.com/webshop/postcodeCheck.do
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

The mention of fish brought back memories of visits to our family down under, where there seems to be an infinite number of fish varieties, all very edible and deliciosly tasty.
Blue Grenadier,
Trevally,
Hoki,
Flake (Gummy Shark - favourite of the g children with a plate of chips and lashings of ketchup)
Broadbill
Flathead
Blue Whiting
Ling
and others whose names now escape me.
Nurse, Musther, Smith, Julnes, Rogers, Parsons,Grieves(Greaves,Greeves),Wood,Cray,Scrine,Shellard,Greenstock,

There's nothing wrong with being mediocre...as long as you're good at it!

Thanks arthurk, I would have put money on it that Ocado don't deliver around here but apparently they do! I've never ever seen any of their vans. Good job I don't bet on the horses.  ::)

Jeff, the only one I know from around here is Ling but I wouldn't remember the names of the fish I had in Thailand. I liked Grouper in the USA, I also had Scrod there. My friend who lived in America for years tells me that it's just small cod!

Well, I did see Ocado, but had no idea what it was.
Will try again .I like Trout, sea trout and freshwater .
In France there are fish which in Belgium are called Zanderling .( does that make sense?)
The little Char from mountain lakes are lovely.
Pike are very muddy tasting unless kept in clear water for a number of days.
I once read an account of someone catching a huge pike they had been after
 for a number of years.
It had been in clear water and was wrapped in wet cloths ready for preparation.
When unwrapped it suddenly snapped and took off part of the person’s
thumb! It was supposed to be dead by then.
Pike one person —-?
Hake is nice ,firm and sweet.
I dislike the large flakes of Cod but has a good flavour .
Kippers ,ooooh ,bliss.
Smoked eel, proper undyed smoked haddock ,Arbroath smokies.

Just announced , - the firm making sandwiches for M&S has been closed down due to Covid 19 .!!!
Their chicken processing place had it too,as did other food preparation firms —- hmmmm?
So what the heck Chinese fish packing places are like does not bear thinking about .

Well folks nothing much to report so I should feel fortunate really.

News Bulletin, I have caught the fly that has been buzzing round for two days now,it was really bugging me ,or flying me!
Does anyone remember Fernandel in “ The sheep has five legs “?
The Continental Cinema ,Market St Manchester.
“He played five parts ,in one he is an inveterate gambler ,and there are sugar cubes on the table , he and four others have bet vast sums of money on which cube the fly will land on.
So much depended on it we in the cinema were on the edge of our seats
It did not land on a cube of sugar.
There is a virtual prize of £ 1,000,000 for whoever guesses or remembers where it did land!

Off for a bath and some attempt to get my hair looking reasonable  ::)
No chance really ,but it can’t be worse, well I really hope not !

Cheerio.Viktoria.

Urrgh, maybe I don't want the M&S food after all.  :-\ Not that I'd be ordering sandwiches.

Having thought further about it, I'm not actually sure that Ocado do deliver here. What it actually said was "You're on our radar" and asked me to register, that doesn't actually say Yes we deliver to that postcode. I think it's probably a ruse to see how much interest there is in the area for them to then decide whether to start deliveries.
