Ann Green b.c. 1806 - Bolton Percy (Tadcaster) - parents? Marriage?
« on: Thursday 20 August 20 12:36 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

Another one from me.

I have Ann Potter (née Green) on the 1851 census:

Lotherton cum Aberford

Ann Potter, Head, W, 44, Ag Lab Pauper, Bolton Percy Yorkshire
William Potter, Son, U, 21, Ag Lab, Lotherton
Fanny Potter, Daughter, 8, Scholar, Lotherton
Emma Potter, Daughter, 4, Scholar, Lotherton

HO107/2353 F 161 P 15

I know Ann Green married John Potter, but I am failing to find a marriage for them.  I also only know that John was born in Yorkshire, around 1802.

Ann is also proving to be difficult to find a baptism for.  I'd be grateful for any help on any of this family!  My husband links in to Emma Potter (she was his 3x Grandmother) so I have her line coming forwards.

Many thanks,
Emma

I didn't have much luck but while I was digging I found out that until 1908, Lotherton parish records were held under Sherburn in Elmet.

Sorry if you already knew that.

I'm not that far from that area, if you want me to go and have a look at gravestones etc, I will be able to.
;D Doing my best, but frequently wrong ;D
:-* My thanks to everyone who helps me, you are all marvellous :-*

Thanks!  I did not know that, so it's useful information to have.

Will be sure to let you know - thanks for your kind offer!

Many thanks,
Emma
