Yes, but it is not ownership. In the normal course of events he would have lived, or worked, or did charitable things for Guildford. The link of a title and the ownership of the land had been broken hundreds of years before that.

That indeed was question was worrying me [Kent or Surrey] but your TNA link seems to confirm the spelling and the Kent location.  [Interesting article on this Kent Coalfield]

confirms inhertitance by marriage for Francis Ist Earl Guilford [mis-spelt Guildford]

The Waldershare estate was purchased by Sir Henry Furness in 1705. The red-brick house, whose design has been attributed to William Talman (Harris 1719) had been built by 1712 and the surrounding formal grounds laid out as shown in a view by J Kip published in 1719 (Harris). The estate passed by marriage to Francis, first Earl Guildford in the mid C18 and has remained with this family although during the C20 the mansion was sold and divided into flats. The house was gutted by fire in 1913 and restored by Sir Reginald Blomfield. The site remains (2001) in divided private ownership.

On 17 June 1728 he married Lady Lucy Montagu (d. 7 May 1734), the daughter of George Montagu, first earl of Halifax. Following the death of his first wife he married Elizabeth the widow of George Legge, Viscount Lewisham, and the only daughter of Sir Arthur Kaye, bt, of Woodsome, Yorkshire, on 24 January 1736. A third marriage, on 13 June 1751, to Katherine, the widow of Lewis Watson, second earl of Rockingham, and the daughter of Sir Robert Furnese, brought him the house and estate of Waldershare in Kent. He was created earl of Guilford on 8 April 1752.

AND WHEREAS the said Robert Furness died the fourteenth day of March one thousand seven hundred and thirty two, leaving issue by Ann Balaam, his first wife, a daughter named Ann Furness, who afterwards married with the Honourable John St John, Esquire, afterwards Lord Viscount St John; and leaving issue by the Honourable Arabella Watson, his second wife, his said son Henry Furness, who then became Sir Henry Furness, and Katherine Furness, now Countess of Guilford, the wife of the right Honourable Francis, Earl of Guilford.
