Its really sad sometimes seeing all the children who die at such young ages, with no chance of a life.

Ive got records of BMD from local churches near me and you see causes of death such as "Unnamed less than 12 hrs old, found in local reservoir",  "10 days, body found in garden" or the harbour  and these are in the 1920's.

Where I live we were a mining town and all the graves to children 10 years old who were killed

Annymore info would be great

But, I do thank you so much

This has also got a child of Thomas and Isabella Rutherford he he was the brther of John Burns, who is a story all by himself with three wives, on son who won the DSM in WW1, was promoted to 2nd Lieut then was awarded the MC, and died of spanish flu in 1919, so that was a good find

Just adding some more for completion:

Hi

Still looking into the names mentioned on the probate and the children in the graves

However, one of the things that came out of this was the brother of John Burns Rutherford,  Thomas who was over in Belfast for a number of years  with his wife Isabell Sparks Rutherford, there are a  few people I didn't know existed until you helped me find John.

I notice one of the last residences of Mary Elizabeth Rutherford, who born 14th of June 1903 sadly died in Sept 10903, was Bonchester Neills Hill, but I think its Mill, do you know if there was ever a textile mill of some form, because Rutherfords came from Bonchester Bridge in Scotland and Thomas was a woollen manufacturer and draper, there seems to be a flour mill at Neills Mill?

I wonder if my relative had a mill, and named it after his home of Bonchester

Looking at her death record (Mary Elizabeth), I think the name of the house is Bonchester and it is in an area of Belfast known as Neills Hill. There is a street in east Belfast called Neills Hill Park.

It is an area in east Belfast close to the old Neills Hill station on the Belfast & Co Down Railway line.

Check out the PRONI Historical Maps Viewer to see the area. It's on the Edition 3 (1900 to 1907) map.
