There are a number of trees on Ancestry with this family.

Alfred Edgar BAGGS married Martha HARRISON on 3 Nov 1866 at St Luke, Chelsea.

Thomas Ernest Cecil was born 7 Jul 1873 and baptised at Hammersmith on 23 August.

Believe it was him that enlisted in the Manchester Regiment in 1894, so he could have been to the Boer War. Main reason why quite a lot of young men of that age cannot be found in the 1901 England census.

Found him as T E C Baggs in UK Outwards passenger lists. Left Liverpool on Lake Champlain on 28 June 1904, bound for Quebec and Montreal. He is age 29. Arrived in Quebec in July 1904 and was going to Toronto.

Alfred Evelyn Baggs arrived in Canada in June 1912 bound for Bradford, Ontario.

There was a sister as well, Hilda Madeline Hermione Baggs born 1883. She married Charles Edward Whitton 24 Aug 1907. One of the witnesses was her brother Harold.

She marries again in 1921 but this time says she is a spinster.

The most direct heirs would be any children of his sisters.

Look for Louisa Lillian Emmeline Baggs on the 1910 census her destination Boston, you might want to check Canada as her Uncle was there.

Hilda Madeline Hermione Baggs who married Charles Edward Whitton 24 August 1907 St Paul Finchley, was living with her brother Harold and his wife Ada in 1911 age 27 no children with her.

Her husband filed for divorce 22 August 1914 she was having an affair with J A Baillie, decree granted 22 February 1916 finalized 13 September 1916.

She marries John Andrew Baillie as Hermione Madeline Hilda Baggs -single 18 April 1921 St James Paddington he was a retired Major so there maybe some military documents to be found.
By now she is 38 years old so it is possible she had a child.

Does anyone have Findmypast sub.

There is a Louisa Baggs 1920 applies for citizenship Massachusetts.

In the hope that is the same personI cannot find it on ancestry.

Louisa went to Boston 1909 with Jessie Dimbleby sister of Ada Dimbleby whomarried Harold Baggs 1895.

Jessie Dimbleby originally went in 1905 and makes frequent voyages back to England.

Well, hello everybody! You certainly have been busy since I last checked. What a fantastic group of detectives you are! My thanks go to you all.

I am a volunteer local historian and I write a weekly column that supports the work of my group. We preserve photographs, documents, film etc. and share it on a website for the community to use, free of charge. So yes, I was in the process of writing an article when I made my original post.

Perhaps some day, a Baggs family member will be searching RootsChat and find this thread! Here is a link to the article that I wrote. https://www.barrietoday.com/columns/remember-this/remember-this-has-an-almost-century-old-barrie-mystery-finally-been-solved-2689315?fbclid=IwAR0aNU2B52KZqDYoE5M5Z2NOg4vZEVK7GSb96_2pw9HTaolhDyAjlvDmtZ0

Thank you, thank you, once again!
