Pat Cotter, 18, laborer, Ireland, Ireland, B.G. [?]

It's N.Y., not B.G.
That changes things then, since that was the column for intended destination.

There were 15 men named Patrick Cotter, age 38 +/- 5 years on the 1911 Census of Ireland. All but 4 were heads with wives and children. 1 was a widowed son in law in the household, but he had 2 children born in Ireland between 1901 and 1911.
That leaves 3 others, and all of them were also there in 1901.

So I wonder if Patrick went back to the US or on to England.?

is this Patrick re-marrying?
--------
Delaware County, Pennsylvania
Marriage License
Patrick Cotter, born in Ireland 28 March 1874, living in Philadelphia, a laborer, has been married before, the marriage was dissolved by death
Delia Hevey, born in Ireland [no date] 1889, living at 1515 Callington St, Philadelphia, a maid, has not been married before.

signed 27 September 1911

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KHN4-D44

-----
married 27 September 1911 at Philadelphia
by John P Leahy, minister of the Gospel

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KHN4-D4C

----------
1920 Census, Philadelphia Ward 22
2 January 1920
at 1350 Mechanic St

Patrick Cotter, 44, arrived 1890, naturalized 1915, gardener, florist
Deria Cotter, 24, arrived 1890,
Joseph, 8
Catherine, 6y 6m
Morris, 5
Helen, 3y 7m
Secilay [probably Cecelia], 1y 7m

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M6YL-2TR

If so, then Patrick died by 8 April 1923:

Death, Philadelphia, at Germantown Hospital
[indexed as Coller]
8 April 1923
Joseph Coller [sic], age 11, born in Philadelphia
father: Patrick Cotter, deceased, born in Ireland
mother: Delia Heavy, born in Ireland
informant: Delia Cotter, 1353 Mechanic Street

---------
Daughter Helen's info calls him Joseph Patrick

Social Security Application Index
Helen Cotter Ryan,
born 1 Feb 1916, died 6 November 2003
father: Joseph Patrick Cotter
mother: Delia H Cotter

[she was married by January 1936, based on her SS records

---------
I can't find the death record for Patrick Cotter himself. He is not
Patrick Cotter, age 19, buried 30 May 1920, New Cathedral Cemetery 2nd and Butler

-----------
and if that is him re-marrying, then the age and immigration year roughly agree with the man who arrived in 1891 who said he was headed to New York.

Death, Philadelphia
James Carter [sic]
death: 13 January 1911
informant: Patrick J Cotter, of 1105 Ogden St

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JD55-SZV
This puts Patrick  in the US in January 1910. Had he taken Mary back to Ireland already, after the 1910 Census, or did he go between Jan 1911 and his possible remarriage on 27 Sep 1911? Or did she travel with someone else?

Thank you oldohiohome for your trojan research it will take me time to digest all the records. One query on 1910 census when Patrick Cotter is with the Atkinson family (Elizabeth atkinson was a sister to Nora Killackey Cotter) it gives Elizabeth Cotter age 5 is this another daughter I have Mary in Ireland in 1911 age 9. Also 2nd marriage for Patrick Cotter probably 2nd wife could be Delia Heaphy? :)
