FindMyPast has the baptism (transcript only) of a
Thomas PRYLAND, bap 22 Sep 1754, place All Saints Buttington, parents Thomas and Elizabeth

Have failed to find a subsequent marriage or burial for a Thomas Pryland. A sibling, Mary Pryland was baptised 2 years earlier and again unable to find a subsequent marriage or burial under that surname.

There is a 1740 Shrewsbury baptism of a Thomas Preynold - but am checking out the death of a Thomas Preynold, Chirbury 1777 to possibly rule out this Thomas?

There are other possible variations of the Preynold surname in the Welshpool area but none are a Thomas.

Thankyou
I have seen Prinnault Preynault too. It's a very unusual name as stated above.  It has been suggested it could be Reynolds as well but the marriage information Does say Preynold apparently ???

thanks for looking for me x

I did wonder if patronymics might be involved ie. ap Reynold. I noticed a baptism in Welshpool (FindMyPast transcript only) -

Thos Reynolds, bap 10 Nov, place Welshpool, father Reynald Davies. FindMyPast has transcribed "Reynald Davies" as "Father's First Names" and "Father's Last Name" is blank.

Just found the 1817 probate of a Reynold Davies of the Parish of Pool, Montgomeryshire. There's also a 1735 will - same name. No time to check at moment

Also on patronimics, there was a Thomas, son of Reinold/Reynold Jones, on 12th September 1760.

The image of the marriage of Mary is on F M P but transcribed as Poznan, although written Prynant.

There was a marriage of Thomas Prynald, of Trelystan, to Elizabth Rider, of Pool, on 25th January 1745 at Castell Caereinion.

Also a son, William, baptised on 24th May 1761 in Buttington. I can't find a marriage but there was a burial of an infant, William Prynold, in Worthen, Shropshire, in 1762. Geographically, it is close to Buttington. Also not far from Trelystan.

Elizabeth Pryland buried in Buttinton on 16th August 1764

Reynold Davies' 1817 probate refers only to his wife Elizabeth. She died 1819 (both burials on FindMyPast, ages 78 and 76). Her probate doesn't include the surname Preynold or similar. She mentions a Reynold Davies (probable baptism 1798).

If Elizabeth Rider is the right person, she may have been baptised in Welshpool on 14th May 1724, the daughter of William Rider/Ryder junior and Sara of Pola.

Other children - Edward 1726, Martha 1728 and William 1730.

William died in 1743 and left a will but only mentioned his wife Sarah, and sons, Edward and William. Martha may have been buried in 1736, although it just gives her mother, Sarah.
