think the accident would have been during the construction of the Vale of Glamorgan Railway which opened in 1897 between Bridgend & Barry. It's on this map

My day job is working with mosaic and this feels like a particularly satisfying one with all sorts of bits of information slotting together to make a picture.
I really appreciate this, I had reached the end of my abilities and thought it was a brick wall so it has been wonderful that you have taken the time to find out information that I would never have found.
