Of course you can view certain records online at scotlandspeople as BillyF says but there are exceptions as follows  -

Births  less than 100 years ago.
Marriages less than 75 years ago.
Deaths less than 50 years ago.

For these records you will need to order the certificate direct at a cost of approx £15 including postage.
