Bit of a gap between the youngest son born in 1940 and his older siblings. Is he a confirmed son? Can't easily see a death for him in Scotland. He looks to have married in 1962.

Hi Monica

My latest theory

Stanley / Isabella - moved to Vancouver
Archibald Jnr - Moved to England
Edward may be the son of Archibald Jnr, and not Archibald snr and Jane.

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan

Not sure if Edward is connected to the immediate family you are looking at but without checking the birth reg. hard to be certain. Maybe Edward connects to Archibald Snr.'s extended family? Archibald had a brother Edward b. 1909 didn't he?

Archibald Jnr didn't marry until 1954 in Stroud Gloucestershire. This is where he died in 2005.

Birth 11 OCT 1926 Aberdeen St Nicholas, Aberdeenshire, Scotland
Death DEC 2005 Stroud, Gloucestershire, England

Hi Monica

Scotland people has no Birth Certificate attached, but looking back Edward may be some other family member.  A distant cousin on ancestry seems to recall only 3 children

There is a 100 yr rule for viewing birth certs online on SP to protect people's privacy etc., (marriages 75 yrs and deaths 50yrs). The 1940 birth is on the index, but you cannot view it online and also at present, you cannot order it either as the offices are still closed due to Covid.

Thanks Monica.

I am fairly new to this side of research, so appreciate such guidance.  That explains a lot.

Thanks again for your help.

Alan
