British India Marriages

Does anyone know where to access British India Marriages or has access to records to help me look up on details of a marriage I'm looking into?

A goodly number are on familysearch.
If it's not there, indicate era/date(s) and names and other on here may be able to point towards an appropriate dataset. There's no single complete index out there

Yes there are a lot of records on FamilySearch, but from what I remember they are only transcriptions and I don't like to rely on them unless I have to. FindMyPast has the original documents for many, although some of those are also only transcriptions, particularly the later ones (after circa 1920). The records for Madras for 1800-1920 were particularly complete when I was looking and generally in very good condition.

The names, dates and cities of interest would be useful if you have them.

You could also use Families In British India Society?

The date of the marriage was before 1799, I'm trying to find out more about Catharine Corbett, where she came from in the first place, how she got to be in Thurlby etc before marrying my ancestor.
