Young family - Ball Farm, Rumney, Cardiff - Can it be improved please
« on: Thursday 01 October 20 16:14 BST (UK) »
Hi

Can anyone help improve this picture please, I was told it was taken about 1916 and would love to be able to put names to faces if possible.

Many thanks
Jayne

This is a lovely family photo of a well earned rest at harvest time.   I'm afraid I couldn't get the faces any clearer for you.  Perhaps somebody with an automatic enhancer app will be able to make them a bit clearer

Since posting my restore, I think I can see another face to the right (as you look at it) of the three people at the back, I have examined it but can't see any clothes  to work out if it is a child or not.

Just a point but in circle that look like tree shadows.  Is the photo adjusted?

Trishanne, I don't believe there is another person but I could be wrong as I know its a poor quality.

Japeflakes, no the picture has not been adjusted it it a stain on the picture.

I have rescanned at 600dpi and resized to bring it under 500kb, but it still is not a great copy, I could post that if anyone thinks it worthwhile.

I know there is a limit on file size here and I know only certain file types are accepted, but I do have another copy which is a bmp format which seems to me to be much clearer, but unfortunately it has a file size of 4.43MB.  Can I do anything with this picture?

Thanks Jayne

Not sure of the rules here, but if the BMP is better quality can it be uploaded to imgur.com and then post the link here.

Can some advise is this is allowed on RootsChat.

I don't want to break any rules.
