The Aston marriage in 1946 with spouse Hicks seems to have produced 3 children. The first born in Plymouth, 2nd in Romsey & 3rd back in Plymouth. Unusual. The J middle initial is missing at birth.

Yes there was a war on and I have traced Mr Aston he was held at Stalag 344 in Lamsdorf and in 1945 the POWs were marched into Germany called the Death March..

Keith -- I can't see a birth registration for a John T Aston in 1909 in Yorkshire.

There is one in Staffordshire - but with a different birth date than the one you have quoted.

(N.B. Despite initially contributing to this topic - I have not received a notification that any other posts had arrived! Isn't that odd).
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.
