There are 21 addresses labelled Stoop in the 1841 census - one is a Jean Hastie, 50, b. Dumfries. You could start there.

I've gone stepwise through Stoop on the 1841 on freecen .

A John Smart, 55, appears to be the only farmer in Stoop.  Others appear to be ag  labs, handloom weavers, spinners, independent, etc.
