Brick wall in Suffolk
« on: Thursday 15 October 20 17:10 BST (UK) »
Hello
I have a GG grandmother Isabella Hepburn Whissell, b1842 in Suffolk.  Her DC lists her parents as William Whissell and Mary Hepburn.  I can find a Mary Hepburn marriage to a Jesse Whissell around the right time, but not a William (anywhere in the country, not just Suffolk) so I'm willing to concede that Jesse and William might be the same person.  But I can't find a record of Isabella's birth/christening anywhere, with either name as a father. I've tried all the wildcards and name variation options I can think of but I'm totally stuck.

Anyone else know of this family?
Thanks!
Karen

As far as I am aware she married James Kidd in Edinburgh in 1862, and then a William Aitken in 1876, Kirkcaldy, Fife. She died in Kirkcaldy, in 1886.

I don't know of any siblings, as I can't find her on any census until after her first marriage in 1871.
