I'm looking for birth and family information on Robert James Lytle (may have been Little) in Northern Ireland. Born between 1810-12. We believe he emigrated to Manvers Township, district of Durham East in Ontario Canada in early 1830s, maybe with wife Eleanor.  Family said he came from Tattygormican townland in Fermanagh.

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

Family said he came from Tattygormican townland in Fermanagh.

Tattygormican townland in the Civil Parish of Clones (Clankelly portion) west of the village of Rosslea.

Civil registration of births only started in Ireland in 1864 so, before that date, church records (if they are in existence) will need to be found.

What was his religion after he immigrated to Ontario?

His religion in the Canada census is listed as Church of England so he was protestant.  I have found the Little family in Church of Ireland baptism records in Coolnalong with a Robert listed for 1814 but it seems a few years too late for him.  Children's names in Canada were William, James, Ellen Margaret, Sarah, so I think Robert's parents must have had similar names.  There is nothing in the Clones parish records for Tattygormican.  The 1814 baptism record for Robert says parents were Robert and Margaret.  Do you think this might be the right one even if the year is off?
