Moorgate Cemetery, Rotherham & Genfair
« on: Monday 19 October 20 02:57 BST (UK) »
Looking to see the burial registers of this cemetery (not national buriel index).  Not on ancestry, freemypast.  Looks like Rotherham family history society has closed c2019.  I'm wanting to find the burial plot numbers, and registers would be nice. Genfair has a copy of " Burials 1841 to 1988 by name order - Introduction to Monumental Inscriptions".  Not sure exactly what "copy of burials" means. Suggestions.  Very many thx

Hope this reaches both jonw65 and PaulineJ (can't fatham how to reply).  Very many many thanks both for your replies.  Obviously I didn't look well enough.  I can't even think how I missed familysearch....maybe because I was looking for images.  Gonna head that way....thankyou both!

Bit late to the party here, but I found this recently doing my own research:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSJ8-T1RP?i=3&cat=516217

It gives the map of locations and names of grave plots in Moorgate cemetery and Herringthorpe Crematorium. The link above displays the overall map for Moorgate, but if you click on the grid icon you can see all the other pages with grave plots. They are in black & white (originals, which I saw many years ago, were in colour), but you can download them and play around with brightness/contrast etc., to make them readable.
