George Hammond Conradi ( Conrady )

I am trying to find out what happened to two of the wives that George Hammond Conradi married or allegedly married. To date I have searched many records, but have been unable to get a result of any death. Sarah Harris is my relation connected to George.

The first was Alice Powell, born about 1859 Newington, London who he married 9th July 1881. I can find no death for Alice after she had given him three children, the last being born 1886.

His second wife is Sarah Harris, born about 1860 at Little Hadham, Herts. I can find no marriage, they have three children between 1896 and 1902 and I can find no death for Sarah, before he marries his third wife.

His third wife is Mary Ann Gurney, nee Adams, born about 1869, there appears to be no children to this marriage.

I have George Hammond Conradi dying in 1924.

Any information or ideas on resolving this would be gratefully received. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Did Alice have a middle name?

He is still with ALice in 1891 , in Battersea- just ask if you havent got that census,

In 1901 Alice, stating she is married, is a servant in Brompton.

Looks like he never married Sarah, as was still legally married to Alice, from whom he was separated.

How did you find that out if he is still with Alice on census?  Where is Sarah in 1901 please?

Meanwhile Alice was a servant saying she was "married" as per a few posts ago.

Alice's daughter, Alice Rebecca was a servant in Acton for a German family in 1901 & married a George Dangerfield in Swindon, 1909. She died in Swindon, 1959.

Her sister, Esther Lillian never married & also died in 1959, Thanet, Kent

Her brother, George Frederick married Alice Maud Hodge, 1909, Bath. George died Bath, 1949

They had 5 children between 1896-1902 (two died in infancy, a son & a daughter)

Thank you to everyone who has responded so far and for all your comments and information.

George Hammond Conradi did marry Alice Harriet Powell, for whatever reason they parted, although Sarah is recorded as being married to George on the 1901 it would appear to be a paper exercise recording her as his wife, and would appear that they never married, although they had children. ( Thank you John for he other two, was unaware of those ) I can not find a death for Sarah between 1902 and 1912 as Harris or Conradi and can not find her daughter Eva Marie Conradi on 1911 although I know she later marries and dies in 1964. I think if I find Sarah on 1911 I find Eva Marie. With Alice Harriet Conradi, nee Powell dying in 1904 it would make George's marriage to Mary Ann Gurney, nee Adams legal as he would now be a widower.
