Can't see this family on the 1851 Census.
« on: Tuesday 27 October 20 16:50 GMT (UK) »

I've found this family on the 1841 Census,

Church Street, Aberavon
Registration District: Neath
Sub District : Margam
Civil Parish & Township: Aberavon
Municipal Borough: Avon

Davies, John  M  28  Navigator
Davies, Margaret  F  27
Davies, Ann  F  7
Davies, Margaret  F  5
Davies, Mary  F  2
Davies, Jane  F  3 months

Only Jane born in county.

I can't see them on the 1851 Census. Can anyone on here see them please?

Cheers, Romilly.

Still looking for 1851 but looking at the 1841 census sheet she isn't Mary F just Mary nor Jane F just Jane.

Were they born elsewhere in Wales or in England?

Thanks for looking, Josey and Carole.

It's difficult to know Carol... I would have thought Wales, but I suppose it depends on what sort of Navigator he was?

I think that Margaret Davies, (5 on the 1841) Married Evan Rees in Neath in December 1858.

Is Margaret jnr the line you are following?  What birthplace does she give on later censuses

Yes Carole, It's primarily Margaret Davies that I'm following, - if she's the right one, she was my GreatGrandmother. On the later Censuses she gives 'Aberavon' as her Place of Birth.

On the later Censuses she gives 'Aberavon' as her Place of Birth.

But 1841 shows her as not born in county?  Birthyear 1839 on the 1871 census

Do you have the 1858 marriage cert?  Does it confirm her fathers name and occ as that on the 1841 census?
