Ontario, Canada Voter Lists Question

I have been researching my ancestors in the Ontario, Canada Voter Lists 1867-1900. Under the column "Lot" there are some letters such as "c", "p", "f" etc followed by the lot #. My question is what do these letters mean? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I think these were election designations,  civic, provincial and/or federal elections.

The "c", "p" or "f" were based on eligibility to vote in each election. Voting in that time frame was questionable/oh so wrong. How who was eligible to vote in which, was complicated. It was based on property ownership, income, ethnicity etc etc.
