I went to family history society today but had no luck finding any of Edmund Packe s family in 1921 let alone his domestic servants

I did find his brother in Rothley with 1 servant

The family is on the 1921 images but, for some reason, not transcribed.

No Edmund, but there is an Olivia Packe, wife.

If you insert 'Stretton Magna' as the parish and 'Stretton Hall' in option keywords, it will give 12 results, with more on the main image.

Thanks so much David

I did try looking for the wife and children but no success

The boys might have been at boarding school.
Margaret the youngest may have been born after census 1921
The picture with her as baby is at Stretton Hall

Great glen was defined differently in 1911 I think

Stretton Hall is definitely in Great Glen tho

I will take another look today as the family history society is open ( 1 Saturday morning  every month...
Luckily it is today ! )

Something I missed.

Oliva is transcribed on the censuses as Parke, in Stretton Magna but the Hall isn't part of the address, with three children and five servants.

David

P.S. All of the servants give Stretton Hall as their place of work.

The 1921 electoral roll, Parish of Stretton Magna, has Edmund Christopher and Olivia Rachel Norah Packe at Stretton Hall.

Heres a photo 1922 0f  baby Margaret Packe  outside GLEN or Stretton. HALL with her nurse

1911 the Packe family were at STRETTON.HALL

1939 they were living at Glen Hall

Edmund and Olivia were still at Stretton Hall on the 1931 electoral roll but by 1935 -

I found the family on the 1921 census
First line was left blank but Edmund Pack had signed the page and the next one
He was not included in the total of 10 people

It was his wife
2 sons & daughter who was 4 months old
A butler .from Devon age 32
Cook from Kent 45
Housemaid age 22 from Southall
Nursemaid age 16 from Leicester
Kitchen maid 17 from London
And on next page a trained children's nurse. Age 43

a nursery maid

There are some pictures of Edmund Packe in newspapers, although not very clear.

Leicester Chronicle 25th April 1953, when he moved into Dell House, near the hall. Also shows his son, Michael, and daughter, Margaret.

Leicester Chronicle 8th November 1958, with his dog.

Leicester Evening Mail 24th April 1961, following his death.
