Can anyone help me find Fanny Baker pls?
« on: Monday 02 November 20 22:46 GMT (UK) »
I've hit a real brick wall with Fanny. I found her baptism in Stratford St Andrew 22nd February 1857(parents are William Baker and Ann brown). I can then find her in the 1861(with her family in Stratford) and 1871 census (with her family in little Bentley Essex, her father is a Miller journeyman but this is the only time I've found them outside of suffolk) by 1881 her family had moved back up to Suffolk and fanny is nowhere to be found? I can't find any record of her at all after 1871,no marriage, death, census record, nothing?! Would anyone be able to help please? I hate losing people like this, it feels like they're lost, silly I know x

Anc has a hint for an 1881 entry for "Tame Thompson" (which someone has corrected to 'Fannie', although the original image doesn't look quite right for that). 1857 "Streatford", married to George. I've just looked up the birth index for one of the children, which gives mmn Baker. Worth following up on?

(Subsequent census shows name as Fanny)

Well spotted. I saw George was dead by 1902, but couldn't find her. There is a possible death for Fanny E RAPKINS 1937, Edmonton.

(1901 census onwards for Fanny Elizabeth gives place of birth as Stratford St Andrews)

1901 Fanny E Rapkins born c1859 Stratford St Andrews, Suffolk

(later census in Edmonton so the death entry looks correct)

Ohh actually on the same family, I've found her sister Jane Anna in every census except for the 1901,in 1881 and 1891 she's with her family in wickham market, in 1911 she's married (her soon to be hubby Samuel fennel is in wickham market in 1901) but I can't find Jane in 1901? Xx
