Hello Jeff

I am pleased family and friends have been so thoughtful.

My only Son died suddenly at 23 and members of my small Family and numerous ones all rallied round to support us.

Yes, trying to think positively is good. Because, if you have family, being there for each other is an absolute must.

I felt that life must go on, because my family needed me and each needed each other.

Some years have passed and now I know how raw my precious loss was one year on.

The Loss never goes away, but for many it will ease in varying amounts as the years pass by.

Take care Jeff and look after yourself and family

Best wishes, Mark

It is good to talk about those you have lost from time to time, memories are fantastic things, you might cry but you will also laugh,  I enjoy getting with my brother who lives in Devon , not often enough, when we can say " do you remember..??"  strange thing is we also remember different things even though we are twins

Take care

radstockjeff - Glad you were able to commemorate the 'milestone' in a positive way, and how kind of your sons friend.

Woke to a bright day although somewhat breezy.  Objective for the day was to upgrade my mobile phone which was due 2 years ago!  This past month data storage all used up so the time to upgrade with bigger storage was now.   Off to Tesco's as don't know if their mobile dept. will be operational after Wednesday - knew which phone I wanted 'so no preamble needed from assistant.   Now I've got to familiarise myself with the new phone - same make as before but totally different.  Got home to find an item I'd ordered was ready to collect - could have collected on my way home if I'd known.

Apart from playing with new phone my evening spent in the usual manner.   Chicken hotpot for dinner and really tasty.

Stay safe everyone.

I need to upgrade my mobile, pads sticking which is a nuisance, I am loath to change to be honest, at my age am not keen on changes to do with modern things, my daughter and her family upgrade theirs regularly, she was going to sell her last one but has given it to me, before Covid, I spoke to the Tesco man and he said he would help me if I went in to see them, don't want to pay mega bucks but it is easier to have  some sort of regular payment so that I don't forget to top it up, so Annette I will be like you trying to fathom out a modern phone and possibly wishing I didn't. Can't put Apps on mine so that will be something new, some car parks don't take cash now and I might need an App for things like that, and the Covid App I suppose, not that I am going far at the moment for car park fees

Jeff, such a poignant day for you, good to hear that you had a lovely meal in honour of Nick's birthday and people's thoughtfulness made it extra special.

Caroline, well done on getting gifts sent off to Oz, hope your son is pleased with the lifetime supply of Marmite! Good to hear that the craft warehouse is doing so well through all this. I suppose crafts are one of the hobbies that many people took up in the last lockdown, let's hope they continue so that associated businesses can continue to thrive.

MH, I have a built in satnav but I've occasionally used the one on Google maps, it's very efficient and is up to date. It would probably have directed you to an alternative route and might even have warned you about it before you got there. Too late now of course but may be worth a try in future.
(The painting is going well thanks  :) )

LM, maybe you'll get to sort out the loft during the coming lockdown, would also have the benefit of giving you some time alone.

Annette, good luck with the new phone, mine has so many detailed settings on it that it took me a couple of weeks to get round it all! That'll keep you occupied during lockdown! LM, you can just buy a phone outright and take out a SIM only contract, works out cheaper. I bought my new one for exactly the same reason as you, the keys were sticking, it only gets worse. Good luck  :)
