« on: Sunday 08 November 20 10:05 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,
does anyone know when the 1921 census will be released? I did hear that the government may not release it for some reason?
kind regards

Dear all,
If anyone has access to the 1921 census before it is released on 'Find My Past', I am searching for Henry George Evans b. 23-06-1918 Canningtown, London. Mothers name Annie Evans, father unkown. I have been hoping for many years that the 1921 census may help.
many thanks in advance  ::)

Unfortunatly my Mum will never learn the name of her grandparents she never knew,,, my Mum passed early this year. I travelled to England from Holland but due to covid restrictions I wasnt allowed to see her before she died.
I hope at least to be able to inform my Mums sister in Australia of her grandparents names
maybe it will help release some of my pain too  :'(

dear all,
I am searching for Henry George Evans b. 23-06-1918, Canningtown, London on the 1921 census (his mothers name is Annie Evans).
Henry George Evans may be in a orphanage as he always claimed (not Bernados) but they may be living together?
In 1918 Annie is living at 167 New Barnes street, Canning town. At this time she is working as a munitions worker at 52 Ravenscroft road, Canningtown.
Kind regards and many thanks  ::)

Henry George Evans (my grandfather) claimed until the day he died that he was a foundling and grew up in a Barnados home never knowing his parents. On his death, I discovered the name of Annie Evans on his birth certificate. The only other clue of his heritage is that he list his fathers name as Herbert Evans on his marriage certificate (this does not appear on his birth certificate). Bernados have no record of a George Henry Evans.
This is all the information I have. I am very pleased that you found his baptism record (I wonder if witnesses would be listed?).
I have been hoping that the 1921 census will reveal his whereabouts and wether he is still with his Mother, Annie. Maybe Annie dies? or as you say, marries?

dear all,
I'm still not really getting anywhere with my Granddad and Annie ??? Lots of possibles and tantalizing clues. So I have decided to go back to what I do know. The fact that my Granddad persisted with his stories of being an orphan I think that the 1921 census find by 'Comberton' is most probably true (unfortunately I am not a member of Findmypast). Also the baptism (09-05-1919) found by 'LadyHawk' is a certain match given the adres of 167 Barnes street.
These 2 facts suggest to me that Annie either dies, enters the poor house or goes to prison and this should happen between the dates of the baptism and the census (09-05-1919 - 1921)  ::)
Well lets hope that Annie does not go to prison,,,,  Initial searches turning up a lot of Annies passing and so far the age mostly above 60, so not likely. I'm not so sure my new approach will help, but all help would be very welcome  ;D
best wishes
Pete
