Death of Priscilla Johnston, nee Latimer, aft 1886
« on: Sunday 08 November 20 21:35 GMT (UK) »
Henry Johnston of Cranny, father Andrew, married Priscilla Latimer Feb 6, 1852, in Lecumpher. Henry died Feb 17, 1886 in Cranny and Priscilla was still alive in 1883 when Henry wrote his will. I cannot find her death which must have been before the 1901 census.
Thanks for any help

For reference-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1852/09434/5417996.pdf

The Will of Henry Johnston late of Cranny County Londonderry Farmer who died 17 February 1886 at same place was proved at Londonderry by James Stewart of Lecumpher Moneymore in said County Farmer the surviving Executor.
Will mentions son Andrew, son John, wife Priscilla, daughter Sarah, daughter Eliza Jane alias Kissick

The Henry Johnston who died 16 Feb.1886 at Cranny was aged 85 years- which would make him about 51 for 1852 marriage.

I have the children mentioned in Henry's will although I have a gap between Andrew born abt 1856 and John born abt 1863. I have the dates of death for the children mentioned except for John although he was on the 1911 census.
When son Andrew died in 1916, his nephew H. F. Kissick was present but I have searched everywhere for  H.F. without any luck.

Thank you aghadowey for all these links. That is very kind of you. I have calculated that the female born 1877 must be Lizzie and the female born 1879 must be Sarah. That means I have 6 children born to James Kissick and Eliza Jane Johnston - James, John, Lizzie, Sarah, William  A., and Maggie (1891). As per the 1911 census, Eliza had had 6 children, 5 living (Lizzie had died 1895). So where is H.F. Kissick, nephew to Andrew? The closest guess that I have is a son to James' brother William who is Frederick born 1904, and he is not really a nephew.
Perhaps the will of Eliza or the Administration of the estate of James would shed some light on this. I have brother William died in 1923. I had better double check my Williams to be sure that I have things correct.

I saw William Kissick's son Frederick earlier but since he was born 1904 he was only 12 when Andrew Johnston died.
William Kissick's esate died go to probate until 1941-
Kissick William of Quilly county Londonderry farmer died 26 November 1923 Probate Belfast 17 April [1941] to James A. Carmichael farmer. Effects £96.

Administration of the Estate of James Kissick late of Gortanewry County Londonderry Farmer who died 10 March 1921 granted [15 Feb.1922] at Londonderry to William Kissick Farmer Effects £40

Probate of the Will of Eliza Jane Kissick late of Gortanewry, Moneymore, Co. Londonderry, Married Woman, who died 14 February 1918, granted at Londonderry 12 March 1920 to Robert Kissick, Farmer, the nephew. Effects: £5 0s 0d.

Wonder if there's an error on Andrew's death registration and nephew shoulf be R_ Kissick instead of HF Kissick?

James Kissick and Eliza Jane Johnston did not have a son with R-- either. They had James, John and William. Although James' brother William did have a Robert John. Quite the puzzle and thanks for all your help.
