My OH ,just before we married, was doing some overtime ,we needed the money!
He was the Export andShipping manager ,but the overtime was in the warehouse.
There were a lot of feral cats about ,the Foreman said to my then fiancé he had to collect all the kittens he could find  drown them!
This was 1956.
Fiancée did get some kittens ,put them in the water scooped them out immediately and dried them in his Hankie .
Hid them where he has found them and threw the water away.
Told the foreman  he’d done the deed.
About a year later he needed to check something in the warehouse.
The fireman was once again complaining about the number of cats and kittens all over the place !
My O.H. By then - dodged round  some bales and avoided the foreman.
Obviously the kittens had bred , so my OH called The RSPCA and they were
very good , Neutered the adults  re homed kittens .
But aaaaw! drying kittens on his hankie!

He was so upset.
Ordered the Dairies diaries with pocket  diaries to match.
Nice little presents to have in - in case!
My son emailed an article on Spode Italian Blue pottery,I have tons and tons if it .Nowhere to keep it so a ten place setting dishwasher, never used , is ideal.
I don’t need anymore !l
Used to have  on shelves in my Victorian pine kitchen.
Not right in this house. Some my Mum’s the rest bought by us and the family as presents.
Sadly you see whole services etc in junk shops now ,dinner plates were £12
each ages ago.
Not done  much today really.Bits and bobs and sorting out .
Some phoning ,sorting out meat delivery for Christmas .
We have three Q Registered butchers close by.Aren’t we lucky.
Not sure  what I am  doing or where I will be .
Depends on  Covid 19 .
Wonder if I will be one of the elderly  who get the vaccine because of other underlying causes.?
I am sure there are other more needy people though.
But it is a wonderful breakthrough isn’t it.
I hope it does not mean people are silly over Christmas.

Must get my skates on tomorrow!
Do something constructive ,

Ooops, daughter just phoned, long chat, .trying to get some organisation
about Christmas presents etc as we most probably not all be together !

Well, ladies — and any gents brave enough to join in  :D
Last tablets with a cuppa , ,eye drops - Morse ,well half and the end tomorrow .
Goodnight ,hope you all sleep well.
Viktoria.

Hope you slept well Viktoria, I don't very often, read somewhere about putting a lemon in the bedroom, not the bed !!, I might give it a go, worth a try, I do dream a lot and sometimes I get into problems like  the strange dream I had last night, then I wake up worried and confused till I realise it is only a dream

Well done your OH for saving the cats, and well done for getting them all neutered eventually, some people just don't like animals but rehoming them would have been better than to drown the poor things

My family were always daft about animals, we had baby chicks, one day my brothers big foot trod on one, we took it to the RSPCA and he had to put a rod in its wings, we looked after this little thing indoors running around the kitchen till it  could go back with his mates outside, we called it limpet as the poor thing limped initially

Well must get on, things to do, no people to see

Have a good  day all

Louisa Maud

Wednesday, Yes Thankyou I did sleep well, woke six thirty and bathroom visit  then  back to sleep until a little while ago.
Lazyitis my mother would say.
I need a cuppa, not hungry but do remember to drink plenty.
No plans except I will transfer some money to grandson ,had his van MOT .
Brake discs OK but recommendation they be changed in about three months .
Well that will be winter still so I will be happier if they are done now.
I was going to send money anyway as Christmas presents for him and grand daughter .They never accept if I offer but a bank transfer they can’t refuse.
Their Mum and step dad are very generous ,but again the grandchildren try to be independent but with the lower Furlough pay it has been tight .
But it was a marvellous help.

Got to do some paperwork today I have just remembered .
Form from Belgium, I  can’t  see it properly .Lime green print on white!
To do with my little Belgian pension, probably to do with Brexit .
Son has got it and I need to send the amounts of English pensions etc .
He will do it online ,but needs paperwork.
Trouble is Belgium tax year is January to December unlike ours!April to April!
Well I had better get cracking ,dustbin day today ,paper and general rubbish .
Got the wrong green bin back last time despite it having my address on it and
“Assisted  collection and return”.
Mine must be from another street !
Well crack on !
Cheerio for now .
Hope everyone is well and look forward to your news.
Viktoria.

I wore my poppy, stood ,inside as the bin men were busy! - and I was getting angry !
Watched the Service in The Abbey ,it was impressive ,really.
The Port Laureate had written a poem specially for the occasion.
It was everything you could ask for , moving, beautiful and truly impressive.
Justin Welleby spoke very well ,but seemed frail.
I felt more  that  this although not the official remembrance service was very very comforting .
Very moving reading from a widow who as did many others, truly felt the tomb held her soldier.

A replica of The Queen’s Wedding bouquet was as is tradition, placed on
the Tomb of The Unknown Warrior ,but later must have been removed for when other floral tokens were placed.
It was truly lovely.

Glad I watched ,feel I have paid my respects now.
I really prefer the 11th November .
THE day!
Viktoria.

Yes Viktoria, I watched it but popped outside, it was a moving service  and well thought out as to where people were placed

Apparently many were at our local memorial today in the village and on Sunday,  usually there are over 3000 gathered there
