There was a programme about people who go quite a bit further than most.
One home had boxes all up the stairs ,a full bedroom etc etc.
They were totally dedicated ,and of course the local children were delighted.

One chap spent ages putting Santa flat on the roof ,all finished and he stood back to admire it all.
His wife came out and just said quietly “ It’s upside down, “it was !
There is a housing complex close by, me, people with health  issues, bungalows and flats with lift .
The displays are amazing.
It like daylight.! :D

Nothing new on the dog saga today I’m afraid... either no one at home or police chap didn’t call been raining cars and dogs all day here anyway.... excuse the pun!

Talking of houses lit up at Christmas... some friends of ours live in the West Midlands and there was a cul-de-sac that had lights up on every house decorated and lit up you were charged to drive round and all money donated to tge local hospital... I should think the national grid must have nearly ground to a halt!

Well done Viktoria for keeping your gob shut, excuse the phrase 😂😂 quick thinking and good communication between you and your daughter saved the day... I did have to laugh though!

My daughter might very well have said this is such a body and such a body’s house .
But so many names of people I had never met etc .it will have gone over my head .
We did make a diversion to see it as there were so many lights, garden, house hedges garage trees.
A blaze of light.
But all was well .
The owners are lovely people and are most helpful to my daughter and son in law ,but diametrically opposite taste .
No harm done fortunately ,it was lucky there had been a bit of a N/S divide
banter  in the hallway.
Said on purpose as they do not understand the really strong dialect which actually we don’t use but to hear my S.A son in law attempt :-
Hello, good evening, come in give me your coats ,you’ll stop for a drink and something to eat won’t you .”
“Ow dew ,’evenin, giv us yer coats, art stopping fer  a drink an summat
t’eat “.
Had them in stitches .
They don’t understand our humour  at all.
But yes, quick thinking .

He is such a lovely man ,I can’t get angry ,but he does rub it in a bit .
I don’t mimic his South African accent ,but could !.

A teacher I worked with had a very broad accent , as example I say Berry
For Bury ,but locals do say Bury to rhyme with hurry, interviewed for a job  after training she was asked where on Earth she thought she could get a job with an accent like that ,——without a moment’s hesitation she retorted
“ In Burry where they all talk like this!”
She was the best teacher I ever worked with.
