Sorry, stuck in an album and therefore very hard to remove (impossible!) without damage. Is that a special outfit or just "Sunday best"? So she would be born about 18??

Born England, an advertisement in Brown's guide of 1877 states that business was established in 1856. In 1877 Cartes de Visite were 14 for 7s 6d (or 7 for 4s).
1863: Castle Mona Road (A card back also gives studio address as Castle Mona Road, near St Thomas's Church)
cdv: Castle Mona Road opposite Wallace's Baths
1871c: 8 Cambridge Terrace (Census has H W Moore)
1881 census gives occupation as Photographer and Grocer with address at 16 Falcon St, Douglas.
1881: 4 Marina Road
1883: 4 Marina road
1902: 37 Derby Rd

Died 1910, age 71

Probably just sunday best. She looks in her70s but difficult to tell. She looks as if she's not got many teeth left. Saying that, I'm in my 70s but look a lot younger than her

I agree with Gadget, 1870s, I have some with the red/brown border from the 1870s. Am I seeing things or does there appear to be letters under the circular design on the sleeve or is it just decoration?

It's difficult to tell her age. She has no wrinkles on her forehead but that doesn't prove anything, neither have I and I'm in my eighties, She would probably be born 1810s/1820s. If it's any help in identification she doesn't appear to be wearing a wedding ring. I have a couple of photos taken in the IOM, unfortunately not taken by the same photographer, but the lady is dressed in similar clothes and it has 1880 on the back.I've given it a bit of restore.
